About Us

AssetGen Limited is a United Kingdom based organisation, developing the AssetGen range of software toolsets for infrastructure management. We are located close to Cirencester, Gloucestershire, a picturesque part of England well known for its small villages and scenery.

When the company was first formed in 1985, its focus was developing bespoke database solutions and networking solutions to meet the increase in PC computing. As we moved into providing solutions for multi-program administration systems in the mid 1990s, the issues involved in business applications development (particularly for our financial services customers) resulted in additional controls and evidence requirements for audit trails, a fundamental part of the AssetGen range.

In 2004, the company started the development of the AssetGen product range to address the growing management needs of complex infrastructures. The management team consists of David Beavan (Technical Development) and David Cuthbertson (Sales and Marketing), both with extensive experience of IT infrastructures and their operational management issues.

Over 30 years in IT yet still retains a sense of humour. David has worked in a wide variety of roles including operations, internal audit, network management and systems development. He enjoys forging long term relationships with clients, helping them to maximize the benefits integrated, bespoke applications can bring to a company. “It’s not technology itself that gives me a buzz” he says, “but using it to help solve core business needs and help clients become more efficient.”

When not chained to a keyboard, David can be found walking the dogs or sailing a high performance racing dinghy in the Cotswold Water Park.

David Cuthbertson BSc- Commercial Director

After university, David's career was based on technical sales and marketing involving semiconductors, WAN/LAN networking and IT services for a number of major manufacturers. After founding two IT services companies in 1989 and 1999 focused on computer network services, he grew them both, eventually leading to a successful trade sale in 2003. David joined AssetGen in 2004 to oversee the development and sales of the AssetGen range for enabling management of complex IT services and infrastructures.

David is a leading industry figure and in actively involved in a number of trade bodies either speaking or organizing workshops at seminars, conferences and supplier led events. He has continued to maintain his relationships with the IOD, NOA, ITSMF, BCS (where he previously chaired the Service Management Specialist Group) and others.

When not glued to a telephone, networking or engaged in public speaking, David is equally busy at home with his wife and four sons, or escaping to a lakeside for a spot of quiet fishing.
